Tubing Drain Valve
Tubing Drain Valve
The Tubing Drain Valve provides communication between the tubing and the annulus. The valve is activated by a differential pressure in favor of the tubing. This pressure acts on a designated area until sufficient force is generated to shear the screws and drive the piston downward. Once opened, the valve allows fluid to be drained from the annulus prior to pulling the tubing string.
Features
- Provides communication between the tubing and annulus.
- Activated by differential pressure, with a shear value that can be easily adjusted in the field.
Benefits
- Provides a means to drain tubing fluid when the pump standing valve, pump, or rod cannot be retrieved prior to pulling the tubing. The fluid dump valve opens without requiring mechanical manipulation of the tubing string. Once activated, the sleeve fully uncovers the drain ports in the valve body, effectively eliminating fluid-cut damage to the valve.
