Tubing Anchor Catcher-Hydraulic
Tubing Anchor Catcher-Hydraulic
The Hydraulic Tubing Anchor is a hydraulically-activated, retrievable anchor designed to secure the tubing string under tension or compression. Its catcher prevents tubing movement during pumping strokes and holds the tubing stationary in the event of a failure. Using a tubing anchor improves pump efficiency, reduces rod and tubing wear, and prevents tubing and rods from dropping into the well in case of a parting.
The Hydraulic Tubing Anchor is activated by applying pressure to the tubing, which shears the screws that hold the anchor in the unset position. A setting piston then drives the slips into place, locking the setting force securely. The anchor features specially designed, heat-treated steel alloy, double-acting slips for maximum holding power in both tension and compression. The slips are fully enclosed for added breakage resistance and remain retained even if damaged. Retrieval is achieved by applying tension to shear the release screws, with shear pins available in 5,000 lbs increments to provide the desired release force.
