Mechanical Release Running Tool
Mechanical Release Running Tool
Description & Application:
The Mechanical Release Running Tool is a combined running and setting assembly used to convey the liner, wiper plugs, seal assembly, and hanger assembly into the well. It also functions as a pack-off tool when the liner is run with liner top pack-offs.
The Model VE-MMRT Running and Setting Tool is equipped with circulation slots along the body. The face of the setting dogs is knurled to ensure a secure grip. After cementing is complete, the tool is released by right-hand rotation.
Once the liner is hung and the setting tool is released, the string is picked up to disengage the setting dogs. Setting weight back down on the string then activates and locks the pack-off in the set position.
