Liner Top Packer
The Model LTP Liner Top Packer provides an effective secondary seal for controlling annular gas migration or protecting sensitive zones from well hydrostatics after cementing.
The packer is equipped with hold-down slips, making it suitable for horizontal well applications. It also features an integral setting collar that allows rotation of the liner hanger during run-in and cementing operations.
Operation
- The liner top packers are set from the top after cementing by applying set-down weight through the packer setting tool on the Tie Back Receptacle. Weight is transmitted through the work string to energize the slips and elastomer element, which are then locked in place by the internal ratchet assembly.

- An internal ratchet system prevents any back-off after setting.
- A high-torque, one-piece mandrel is equipped with BTC, LTC, or premium connections that meet or exceed the torque capacity of the liner connection.
- Hold-down slips positively lock the applied setting forces to ensure proper packer setting.
- An integral setting collar is provided to allow rotation of the hanger.
