The Landing Collar is used during liner hanger setting prior to cementing operations. A setting ball seated in the shear seat of the Liner Hanger Assembly allows pressure to be applied to set the hanger slips. After the hanger is set, increasing the pressure shears the ball seat, restoring full circulation for cementing operations. The shear rating of the ball seat is adjustable to meet specific hanger requirements. The HLC incorporates a latch with a non-rotational mechanism designed to receive, lock, and seal the Liner Wiper Plug upon completion of cementing.
