Heavy Duty Circulating Tubing Swivel Sub
Heavy Duty Circulating Tubing Swivel Sub
Circulating Tubing Swivels allow surface connections to remain in place while the tubing string is rotated or moved vertically. They provide a lifting point for elevators positioned above a high-capacity thrust bearing and accommodate one or two connections for discharge or flow lines.
An optional single in-line connection allows wireline tools to be run through the swivel. Tubing Swivels are designed for relatively slow rotation and are not intended for drilling operations.
Benefits
- Prevents rotation: Isolates tools, casing, or tubing from rotation above, reducing wear and risk of damage.
- Smooth operation under load: Bronze bearing rings ensure reliable, low-friction rotation even under heavy loads.
- Easy maintenance: Simple design allows for quick redress and minimal downtime.
- Versatile use: Compatible with a wide range of downhole applications and tools.
Applications
- The Tubing Swivel is used in drilling and completion operations to isolate tools, tubing, or casing from rotation above. It is ideal for operations where smooth rotation under load is required, such as running or retrieving downhole tools, packers, or bridge plugs, while maintaining full casing or tubing internal diameter.
