Free-Rotating Eccentric Guide Shoe
Free-Rotating Eccentric Guide Shoe
The free-rotating eccentric guide shoe is designed to ensure smooth casing deployment in highly deviated well sections. Its innovative nose design allows the guide shoe to reorient itself as casing or liners are run into the wellbore. When the nose encounters a ledge or obstruction that would typically stop a standard guide or float shoe, it generates a side force that causes the shoe to rotate away from the blockage. This self-correcting motion enables the casing to continue running to the target depth – without the need to rotate the entire casing or liner string.
