The tool incorporates a large internal bypass to minimize swab and surge pressures during run-in and retrieval. Upon setting, the bypass mechanism automatically closes to isolate the annulus. During release, it reopens to facilitate pressure equalization across the packer before retrieval. Shear screws provide controlled release functionality, with the shear value configurable by varying the number of screws in the shear housing.
