Cement Retainer
Cement retainers are used in secondary cementing operations and are designed to set securely in casing of any hardness. A ratchet lock ring retains the applied setting force within the retainer. The one-piece packing element, combined with metal backup rings, provides a superior seal. Case-hardened, one-piece slips virtually eliminate premature setting while allowing for easy drill-out.
Features and Applications
- The retainer incorporates brass shear screws on the cones to allow for disassembly.
- The sleeve features increased bonded rubber and O-ring sizes to ensure consistent flow and sealing performance.
- An internal sleeve taper is matched to the mandrel, preventing collet fingers from being subjected to force during stinger removal.
